Narrated 'Adi bin Hatim: The Prophet said, "Protect yourself from the Fire." He then turned his face aside (as if he were looking at it) and said again, "Protect yourself from the Fire," and then turned his face aside (as if he were looking at it), and he said so for the third time till we thought he was looking at it. He then said, "Protect yourselves from the Fire, even if with one half of a date and he who hasn't got even this, (should do so) by (saying) a good, pleasant word.' Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "Religion is very easy and whoever overburdens himself in his religion will...

This weekend, I took my dad along to the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) located in Doha, Qatar. It opened in December 2008 and has since been a great success. The islamic art collection is exquisite with art from all around the world dating between 7th and19th century. This institution was designed with a visionary of the Emir wanting Qatar to be a capital of culture; the building in deed has further instated his vision. The design of the building itself was designed by the famous architect, Mr. Pei, after taking his inspiration from visiting various islamic monuments in arab countries....

Every year, sleepinginairports (http://www.sleepinginairports.net/bestof.htm) does a review of airports to determine the best and worse airports. Here are the chart toppers for 2009:1. Singapore2. Seoul Incheon3 Hong Kong4. Amstedam Schipol5. Dubai6. Munich7. Kuala Lumpur8. Frankfurt Main9. Zurich10. CopenhagenI am really excited to see Dubai and Kuala Lumpur (KL) on the list. I love both these airports. They are, in my opinion, very beautifully designed and welcoming after a long flight. Dubai specifically has spent alot of money on the interior...

It's rather displeasing, and face reddenning, to read Islamic slander or come across blogs like this one: http://doctorbulldog.wordpress.com/?s=islamI am always so attempted to reply but often don't because of this hadith:Narrated 'Aisha: A man asked permission to enter upon Allah's Apostle. The Prophet said, "Admit him. What an evil brother of his people or a son of his people." But when the man entered, the Prophet spoke to him in a very polite manner. (And when that person left) I said, "O Allah's Apostle! You had said what you had said, yet you spoke to him in a very polite manner?" The Prophet...

According to Shape magazine, http://www.shapemag.co.za/, the following foods are healthy and filled with optimum nutrition and they wont break your budgetYogurtKeep your "good" digestive bacteria at a healthy level with yogurts containing live, active cultures. Wild SalmonIt contains omega-3's, which help maintain heart health. Why go wild? Farm-raised salmon can be more prone to disease and may have been exposed to or treated with antibiotics.Egg WhitesEven with yolks, eggs have just 293 to 334 kilojoules each—but that yellow center is high in cholesterol. Buy fresh eggs and then take out...

I love this picture - there is something about children that bring you back to basics. Their smile, sincerity, innocence, freeness and hope makes you want to be just like that, again. Watching them and playing with them is one of the most amazing feelings in the world, even if they are not your own. I can only imagine how much closer than bond becomes when they are actually your own. I long for that day to be called "Mom", Inshalla...

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: A strong believer is better and is more lovable to Allah than a weak believer, and there is good in everyone, (but) cherish that which gives you benefit (in the Hereafter) and seek help from Allah and do not lose heart, and if anything (in the form of trouble) comes to you, don't say: If I had not done that, it would not have happened so and so”, but say: “Allah did that what He had ordained to do” for your "if" opens the (gate) for the Satan.Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet never criticized any food (presented him), but...
